The place was nice, the parking lot is massive. The beach is clean and the water is super clear. Though there are parts of it that's rocky so beware.
What I don't like is how the staff forgotten to tell us that we need to have wristbands to enter the pool area when we are entitled to four since we booked a room. Otherwise, the rest of the staff was nice and approcheable.
The rooms is also reasonable for the price, unfortunately, the comfort room, though quite large has a fishy smell to it that I can't seem to figure out where its coming from.
Overall the stay was good, we would definitely comeback.
The pool and ocean water are the warmest we have experienced anyplace including Guam. The people are friendly. They let us barrow a grill to cook our food. There are outside showers on both sides of the pool but not in the room. Although they is a bucket of water and a sprayer for cleaning your bum by the toilet. We had a Queen bed with an extra twin mattress in each room so we only rented three rooms for eight people.
We had a fantastic party in their air conditioned 5 bedroom house we hired for the night, right on the beach, at high tide the water is only about six meters from the front of the house.
If I had any complaint it would be that broken coral isn't pleasant to walk on and they would do well to remove it during low tides to make walking into the sea more comfortable when it isn't high tide.
We were with a large group and stayed at Punta Almara Beach Resort for two nights. The place was fully booked and clearly very popular.
They have both rooms, and cabins as well as tents for rent. The resort has four stations, stations 1 and 2 contain the reception area and has a different entry point from the road than stations 3 and 4. There is parking available for guests at both places. Every guest must wear a wristband to ensure entry to resort grounds.
The beach is long and varies in width with high and low tide. It consists mostly of sand. Depending on wind conditions the water is either ebbing in and out, or small waves are crashing in on the beach. The water was clear when the ocean was calm, and turned murky when there were waves. During low tide it is shallow quite far out from the beach, and it gets deep quite quickly during high tide. Pieces of coral, rocks and seagrass and algae were covering the bottom, the waves bringing it into the beach.
The resort also has a freshwater pool for those preferring to stay out of the ocean, admission fee for the pool costing extra.
As for food and drinks there are small stores located around where you can buy drinks and snacks, local vendors show up with fresh sea food for sale. The resort has grills that are readily available for the quests.
For us the number one best and memorable experience from this resort was the music entertainment at night. A lone and very talented singer gave great performances before the DJ from Manila took over turning the area to Disco by the Beach. Full light and Pyro show in addition to water and foam guns being eagerly operated to make sure that nobody stays dry during the party.
So why the average star rating? In my humble opinion the resort deserves better maintenance routines, clogged toilets filled with excrement and broken water faucets being clear examples. If you wish to swim in the ocean there are
better beaches to experience swimming from, with less debris.
If you come for the disco at night, however, I can fully recommend it! Dance it up! 🙂
I like the view and the ambiance of the place, very clean and accommodating people.
The place is nice especially the event place and rooms. However cannot bathe properly in the sea due to rocky seashore. It is recommended to use aqua shoes and in low tide.
Nice place 🫶 staff are really friendly and helpful. Thank you for helping me to set up my tent and also free charging station 👍🏻 …
Rooms are fine for sleeping, great view of the sunset and sunrise. They have clean towels but dont have hot shower. Overall, our stay was memorable because of the people we are with not the place.
